Injection sites
GLP-1 injection sites
For the injectable products covered here, the labels identify the abdomen, thigh, and upper arm as subcutaneous injection areas. Semaglutide is sold as Ozempic and Wegovy, tirzepatide as Mounjaro and Zepbound, and liraglutide as Saxenda. The shared list of areas is a starting point for reading the instructions, not a reason to treat every device or product as identical. Oral tablets do not use injection sites. Read the map as an orientation aid
The diagram marks broad anatomical areas mentioned in the labels. It is deliberately schematic: it does not identify an exact puncture point, represent individual anatomy, or show needle placement. The upper-arm detail has a separate rear-view inset because the tirzepatide instructions specify the back of the upper arm, with the injection given by another person. A front-view arm highlight would hide that important distinction. Zepbound labelMounjaro label
Wegovy injection instructions also identify the front of the thighs and lower abdomen, keeping two inches away from the belly button. Its instructions exclude skin that is tender, bruised, red, or hard, and areas with scars or stretch marks. Those product-specific details remain in the linked Instructions for Use rather than being replaced by a colored patch on a general illustration. Wegovy label
Rotation means changing the spot
The injection labels describe changing the site with each injection. The Zepbound medication guide explains that the same broad body area can be used while choosing a different spot within it. The Saxenda label likewise describes rotation within a region. An entry that only says abdomen therefore records less detail than one that also distinguishes the location used on that occasion. Zepbound labelSaxenda label
A rotation history answers a documentation question: which area was logged most recently? It does not answer every technique question, and it cannot inspect the skin. A product instruction may refer to an area, a particular spot, or a person assisting with injection. Keeping those meanings separate prevents a simple rotation pattern from being mistaken for comprehensive administration guidance.
Brand and presentation remain part of the instructions
Mounjaro and Zepbound labeling includes multiple pen and vial presentations and calls for training appropriate to the presentation received. Ozempic injection labeling now includes multiple-dose pens and single-dose prefilled syringes. Reading an instruction for one device does not establish that the steps are identical for another device carrying the same active ingredient. Saxenda uses daily injections, while the semaglutide and tirzepatide injection schedules on this page are weekly. That difference affects the number of entries in a history, even where the label-listed body areas overlap. The site map does not display a dosing interval; the relevant medication schedule supplies that separate piece of information. Saxenda labelOzempic labelWegovy labelMounjaro labelZepbound label
How site logging works in PinPoint
PinPoint injection entries can include the compound, dose, site, and pain level. Its site-rotation feature suggests where to inject next. Past injections can be backfilled, and reminders follow the day and time set in the schedule. These features provide a dated site history that can be read alongside the medication record. They do not replace the administration instructions supplied with a prescription. App features
Daily notes and side-effect severity ratings offer room for observations around an entry. An observation stays a record of what was noticed rather than a conclusion that the site caused it. PDF, CSV, and JSON exports allow the logged sequence to be reviewed. The dose amount, site, and date are distinct fields of context, so a useful record retains all three instead of only a checkmark. Questions
Which broad areas do these labels list?
The injection labels list abdomen, thigh, and upper arm. Tirzepatide instructions specify another person giving an injection in the back of the upper arm. Product-specific Instructions for Use provide the detailed boundaries and device steps. Ozempic labelWegovy labelMounjaro labelZepbound labelSaxenda label
Does rotating require a different body region every time?
The Zepbound medication guide allows the same body area while choosing a different spot. Rotation history should be read alongside the exact instructions for the prescribed product. Zepbound label
