Semaglutide dose schedule
Semaglutide appears in Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus labeling, but it does not have one interchangeable schedule across those products. Route, indication, and presentation change the reference. This page compares adult injection schedules for Ozempic and Wegovy and identifies the separate tablet schedules. Milligrams remain the dose unit throughout; a syringe-unit conversion belongs to a known liquid concentration, not to the generic name alone. Ozempic labelWegovy labelRybelsus labelArithmetic

Ozempic injection: an initiation stage and conditional increases
Ozempic injection starts at 0.25 mg weekly for four weeks and then reaches 0.5 mg weekly. A later increase to 1 mg requires at least four weeks at 0.5 mg when additional glycemic control is needed; an increase to 2 mg requires at least four weeks at 1 mg. The current label also specifies 1 mg after at least four weeks at 0.5 mg for its kidney-outcome indication. Ozempic label
| Interval | Weekly amount | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | 0.25 mg weekly | Initiation |
| 5 onward | 0.5 mg weekly | After four weeks at 0.25 mg |
| After ≥4 weeks at 0.5 mg | 1 mg weekly | If more glycemic control is needed; also the labeled kidney-outcome dose |
| After ≥4 weeks at 1 mg | 2 mg weekly | If more glycemic control is needed; maximum weekly dose |
Wegovy injection: indication-specific maintenance
Wegovy injection uses four-week stages of 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 1.7 mg weekly before maintenance. For adult weight management, the ongoing amount is 1.7 or 2.4 mg weekly. The current label permits 7.2 mg for adults who tolerate 2.4 mg for at least four weeks when additional weight reduction is clinically indicated. That conditional option does not apply to every Wegovy indication or age group. Wegovy label
The label can also delay escalation when a stage is not tolerated. Thus, the numbered weeks summarize the reference sequence, not a promise about the calendar of an individual person. A record that remains at one strength longer than the table illustrates is not enough information to judge the prescription. The table is a way to read the label, not a substitute for it. Wegovy label
| Interval | Weekly amount | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | 0.25 mg weekly | Initiation |
| 5–8 | 0.5 mg weekly | Escalation |
| 9–12 | 1 mg weekly | Escalation |
| 13–16 | 1.7 mg weekly | Escalation |
| 17 onward | 1.7 or 2.4 mg weekly | Adult weight-management maintenance |
| After ≥4 weeks at 2.4 mg | 7.2 mg weekly, if prescribed | Adult weight reduction only: tolerability and clinical need conditions apply |
Oral semaglutide belongs in a separate table
Rybelsus uses 3 mg daily for thirty days, then 7 mg daily for the next thirty days, followed by 7 or 14 mg according to glycemic need. Ozempic tablets use different labeled strengths: 1.5, 4, and 9 mg. The combined tablet label says those two tablet products are not substitutable milligram for milligram. Copying an injection amount into either tablet schedule loses essential product information. Rybelsus label
Wegovy tablets have their own sequence of 1.5, 4, and 9 mg daily in successive thirty-day stages, followed by 25 mg daily. The injection and tablet label includes switching instructions, which are not a general arithmetic ratio between routes. The daily oral amount and the weekly injected amount describe different labeled uses, even though both names include semaglutide. Wegovy label
Use the tracker to preserve dates and context
PinPoint includes reminders, titration phases, and a color-coded calendar. Injection logs capture compound, amount, site, and pain level, with backfilling for earlier entries. A meaningful history keeps the dose associated with its actual recorded date. Daily notes and side-effect severity ratings can preserve observations without turning timing alone into a causal conclusion. App features
For vial arithmetic only, 5 mg in a final volume of 2 mL equals 2.5 mg/mL; 0.20 mL then contains 0.5 mg. A U-100 scale labels that volume as 20 units. The semaglutide calculator can reproduce this input-based result, but it cannot select the label schedule, identify a mystery concentration, or equate a compounded solution with an approved pen or tablet. Questions
Is there one semaglutide dosage chart for every product?
No. The labels contain distinct injection and oral schedules, with indication-specific conditions. A useful reference identifies the brand presentation and route before displaying the amount. Ozempic labelWegovy labelRybelsus label
Can PinPoint show a changing prescribed phase?
The app description includes step-up and step-down titration phases and reminders that follow the entered schedule. It does not describe the app as selecting a clinical dose. App features
