Tirzepatide dose schedule

Tirzepatide is sold as Mounjaro and Zepbound, and both labels describe once-weekly injections. Their shared active ingredient does not erase differences in indications or in the wording around escalation. This dose schedule places the adult label references together while keeping their conditions visible. It also distinguishes the prescribed amount in milligrams from any volume calculation used for a separately supplied vial. Mounjaro labelZepbound label

Zepbound: initiation, escalation, maintenance

Zepbound begins with 2.5 mg weekly for four weeks, followed by 5 mg weekly. Further changes use 2.5 mg increments after at least four weeks at the current amount. In weight management, maintenance doses are 5, 10, or 15 mg weekly. In obstructive sleep apnea, the label lists 10 or 15 mg weekly. The 2.5 mg initiation amount is not a maintenance dose. The longer a reference table becomes, the easier it is to read it as a mandatory ladder. That is why this table describes later stages as conditional instead of assigning every reader a fixed week for reaching 15 mg. It retains the difference between a minimum interval, a prescribed change, and an ongoing maintenance phase. Those are separate pieces of information.

Mounjaro: read the current conditional wording

The current Mounjaro label starts at 2.5 mg weekly and describes increases of 2.5 mg after at least four weeks at the current dose when additional glycemic control is needed. The maximum weekly amount is 15 mg in adults. Its pediatric maximum is different, so the table below is explicitly limited to the adult reference. Product-specific instructions remain important even when the milligram strengths overlap. Mounjaro label

Why units cannot be added to a generic schedule

A dose expressed in milligrams does not imply one universal syringe marking. For arithmetic purposes, a 10 mg vial in a final volume of 2 mL has a concentration of 5 mg/mL. A 10 mg vial in 4 mL has a concentration of 2.5 mg/mL. The same 0.20 mL volume would contain 1 mg in the first example and 0.5 mg in the second. Arithmetic

These examples are numerical illustrations, not preparation instructions or approved-product concentrations. A prescribed pen or branded vial follows its own label. The units reference and tirzepatide calculator keep the calculation separate from the choice of a clinical dose. A result can be arithmetically correct while its inputs describe the wrong container, which is why identifying the actual concentration comes before interpreting the output. Arithmetic

Represent the plan without rewriting the history

PinPoint supports titration phases for step-ups and step-downs, along with weekly reminders, a calendar, and backfilled dose entries. Injection logs can include the compound, amount, site, and pain level. That structure can preserve the history of an earlier phase while the entered plan reflects a later one. Notes and side-effect severity entries offer space for dated observations alongside the injection record. App features

The supply forecast concerns remaining vials or pens. The modeled-level curve concerns a mathematical pattern based on published half-life data. Neither feature decides a maintenance amount or confirms an individual blood level. Keeping the source schedule, personal prescription, actual dose history, and app model distinct makes a review of the record easier to follow. App features

Questions

What is the shortest interval between escalation steps in these references?

The labels describe at least four weeks at the current dose before later increases. Zepbound also specifies its initial four-week 2.5 mg stage. Minimum intervals do not require a change at the first eligible date. Zepbound labelMounjaro label

Are 20 units a tirzepatide dose?

Twenty U-100 units is 0.20 mL. The milligram amount depends on the solution concentration, so the syringe marking alone cannot answer the dose question. Arithmetic
